The 2000 Dixie Fellowship was held at Camp Daniel Boone from April 14 - 16.  Catawba Lodge had a strong support at this fellowship with over 80 members attending.  People from all over SR 5 attend this event..  There are quest events, ceremonial competitions, dance competitions, and a lot of fun.  Here are the awards list and some photos our lodge at the 2000 Dixie Fellowship.

At the Dixie Fellowship there is a Friday night show with music and guest speakers.  This is also an opportunity for lodge members and lodges to show who has the most spirit in the Section.  Here is a group our our Arrowmen showing their spirit.

Another purpose of the Dixie Fellowship is competition.  Rod competed in the Grass dancing competition but unfortunately did not place.  There is always next year and NOAC, anyway we are there to have fun.

Sean on the other hand was a bit more fortunate in the same competition.  Sean placed first in the Grass Dance competition.
This is also the event where the new Section officers are elected into office.  We had two of our Arrowmen run for Section office Jeff on the left ran for Section Chief and Ryan on the right ran for Section Vice-Chief.  Ryan won Section Vice-Chief, so everyone needs to congratulate him for that distinct honor.  He will have a tough road ahead of him and our lodge will support him in this great office.
Lodges also compete in other competitions.  One of which is a totem pole competition.  This is the totem pole design that we used.  Our totem pole designers and painters did a great job and our lodge won 2nd place in the hand tools totem pole competition.
There is also a closing show and here is a group of our lodge members at that show.  The rest of our guys are sitting at the top of the arena.
T he closing show is where the awards are handed out.  Look at Nancy, she is so excited because our planbook won first place.  A lot of long hours have been spent between her and her committee chairman to make our publications first class.
Here is Rod leading our lodge in another cheer after we won the website competition.

This Dixie page would not be complete without the picture of the 4 coordinators picking Jay Widby (past section chief) up and throwing him into the lake.  As you can see from the picture on the bottom he took it well and even posed for a picture with the 2000 - 2001 Section Chief, Jason Laney.
