Saturday evening of 2nd Ordeal, the Arrowmen of Catawba Lodge
learned of the death of President Reagan. The United States flag was
lowered to half staff in respect to our 40th President and in
response to Presidential directive. The Arrowmen stood a little
straighter at attention as the flag was lowered at the evening’s
Retreat ceremony before dinner and a moment of silence was observed.
President Reagan, past Honorary President of the Boy Scouts of
America, was a distinguished example of …”duty to God and my
country.”
Flags at Clear Creek Scout Camp and Mecklenburg Scout Reservation
will remain at half staff for the traditional 30 days of mourning
for a president or past president.
