SEHWATU CHAPTER
SUMMER FELLOWSHIP
Saturday July 26th 1:30
PM - 7:00 PM
On July 26, Sehwatu Chapter will be
having its Summer Fellowship at Belk Scout Camp. We will play games,
go swimming, and have a cook out among other activities being
planned. We want all Sehwatu Arrowmen to come out and have a great
time! There is a sign up form below and we need all members
who plan to come to register so that we may plan for food. The
cost of the event will be $3.00 per person and will be collected
when you arrive. If you would like to bring a guest to
participate in the activities please indicate this on the form.
The same weekend as the Chapter
Fellowship, Sehwatu has two opportunities to provide service for the
Council and the Camp. We have been asked to help teach at the Webelo
Resident Camp for which we will need 6 youth Arrowmen. These
Arrowmen will act as patrol leaders for the Webelos from Friday
afternoon to Saturday morning. Our second opportunity is to
refurbish the staff cabin at the Chapman Shelter. Working with
the Lodge's Cook Team, Sehwatu has already performed some work on
it, though there is still much that needs to be done. We plan to
work from 8:00 to around noon, and we need 10 people (combination of
youth and adults needed). Please use the sign up form to
indicate if you can help with either of these events.
If you have any questions, feel free to
contact Ben Lane (sehwatu_chief@catawbalodge.org).

Chapter Meetings
The Chapter holds its monthly chapter
meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Back Creek
Presbyterian Church at 7pm. Make sure to attend so you
can find out about new happenings in the lodge and chapter.
Also, it is a good way to get involved in the Order.

Introducing "Hwatu" the Sehwatu Chapter Mascot
The Chapter introduced the mascot at the Sehwatu Summer Fellowship to the Chapter members, and to the Catawba Lodge at the 2005 Fall Fellowship. The word "se'hwatu"
in Cherokee means "the hornet", thus our totem and mascot is the
hornet. Our hopes are that this mascot will not only be used by the
Chapter, but also the Lodge (Totem - Hornets Nest, home of "the
hornet"), the District (Hornets Nest), and the Council to assist in
fulfilling their missions.
Please see the "Mascot"
link on the left to request the use of the mascot.
