Sehwatu Summer
Fellowship

(Park in the entrance parking lot and walk to the pool)
Cost: $7.50 +
2-liter bottle of soda
On July 22nd our Chapter will meet at the pool at Belk Scout Camp
having a Chapter Fellowship with Swimming and Pizza. Each
participant will receive a free Sehwatu Chapter Cup, & Pizza.
The cost is $7.50 and a 2-liter bottle of soda. In case of
rain, we will be meeting at the Catawba Shelter for a Movie and
Pizza night. Please use the signup form link below to let us

CHAPTER PARTICIPATION PATCH is HERE!!
Who can purchase this patch?
ANYONE (in or out of our Chapter) can
purchase the Chapter "Participation" patch ($5.00
per patch). Funds
raised by the purchase of these patches will be used to provide
"Activity Beads" for Sehwatu Chapter members. Beads will be
given (not sold) to the Sehwatu Chapter participants in the events.
Lodge members outside of the Sehwatu Chapter are NOT eligible to
receive Sehwatu Chapter "Activity Beads". The goal is to
increase participation by Sehwatu Chapter members in Chapter and
Lodge activities by recognizing those that do and create a desire to
receive such recognition from peers in the Chapter. Plans are
to do this for 3 years beginning in calendar year 2009. All
Sehwatu members, in good standing (dues paid), are eligible to
receive "Activity Beads" for participating in the respective events.

Chapter Meetings
7:00pm - 8:30pm(ish)
Hopewell Presbyterian Church
10500 Beatties Ford Road
(just across from entrance to Latta Plantation)
The Chapter holds its monthly chapter
meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Hopewell
Presbyterian Church at 7pm. Make sure to attend so you
can find out about new happenings in the lodge and chapter.
Also, it is a good way to get involved in the Order.

Introducing "Hwatu" the Sehwatu Chapter Mascot
The Chapter introduced the mascot at the Sehwatu Summer Fellowship to the Chapter members, and to the Catawba Lodge at the 2005 Fall Fellowship. The word "se'hwatu"
in Cherokee means "the hornet", thus our totem and mascot is the
hornet. Our hopes are that this mascot will not only be used by the
Chapter, but also the Lodge (Totem - Hornets Nest, home of "the
hornet"), the District (Hornets Nest), and the Council to assist in
fulfilling their missions.
