Sehwatu Chapter of Catawba Lodge Order of the Arrow is planning to
hold several service projects this summer. The primary purpose is to provide an opportunity
for our Arrowmen to serve their community. This also allows
our Arrowmen to finish the Community Service requirement for the
OA’s Leadership in Service Award. We are planning to hold the work projects at Hinds Feet Farm near Huntersville. Hinds Feet is an establishment which works with individuals with head injuries. The work will consist of maintenance and repair of the facilities and grounds.
WHERE: Hinds Feet Farm, 14625 Black Farms Rd, Huntersville, 28078
WHEN: Saturdays,
July 16 (CANCELLED), and August 27. The work project starts at 9 am and ends at 12 noon. Please arrive early.
GEAR: Dress for sunny, hot and humid outdoor work. Bring a water bottle and personal First Aid kit. The June work day will consist of trail maintenance and we have been warned about poison ivy. So wear long trousers and bring gloves.
BAD WEATHER: Scout rules prohibit activities during lightening and thunder, and no one wants to work in the rain.
Watch this website for late cancellations!!
RSVP: Please inform the Chapter if you are planning to attend and tell us if you are a youth or adult, sehwatu_chief@catawbalodge.org and
sehwatu_adviser@catawbalodge.org.
SIGN IN: All attendees must find the Crew Chief upon arriving before 9 am and check in. If anyone leaves early, please check out. Non-OA youth attendees must have a parent present during the entire work session.
MEDICAL FORMS: Each BSA attendee must present the Crew Chief with a current BSA medical form (a copy is
preferred) upon check in. The form will be returned at the end of the session.
MORE INFO: All work-day attendees are encouraged to attend the Chapter meeting the Wednesday night before the work day (fourth Wednesday of the month), or send a troop representative. The meeting is held at Back Creek Presbyterian Church on Back Creek Church Rd near Highway 49 &
I 485, 7-8:30 pm.
